            I am not only reluctant for political reasons, but the current president in office, Woodrow Wilson, has treated me with great disrespect. I never expected to hate anyone in politics with the hatred I feel toward Wilson. Also, he completely and rudely overlooked my fellow Republicans when appointing delegates for the peace conference. But as I said, I want it to remain clear that my political opinion about the Treaty of Versailles is my main motivation in rejecting it.
